MOGADISHU (Reuters) - A Somali security source said five people, including a cameraman, were killed in a double suicide attack by al Shabaab on a military post south of the capital Mogadishu.

Al-Shabaab said in a statement that the attack was carried out by two car bombs, and led to heavy casualties among government forces.

According to the statement, the attack took place two car bombs, the first targeted the entrance to the military center, and minutes later a second car broke into the center and exploded inside. Al-Shabaab reported that the double attack resulted in heavy casualties among government forces, without mentioning a statistic.

A security source told Anatolia that the preliminary toll indicates the killing of four elements from both sides, in addition to a cameraman who was working for the Voice of Somali Army Radio.

In a related context, Radio Voice of the Army killed 17 members of the Mujahideen youth and wounding ten others, including a spokesman for the movement in an operation in the province of Lower Shabelle.

The radio said that the operation targeted elements of the movement were accompanied by a car carrying the movement's spokesman Ali Tairi, in the town of Cham, which lies between the city of Otigli and the town of Berri in the region.
