The prosecution has required six months in prison, the defense claims the release: the American rapper A $ AP Rocky, prosecuted for violence after a fight in Stockholm in late June, will know Wednesday the verdict of the Swedish justice.

The judgment is expected at 14:00 local time (12:00 GMT). The famous rapper was arrested after a street fight on June 30 and detained on the grounds that there was "a risk of flight" abroad. Released August 2 after three days of trial and returned to the United States, he will not be present at the time of the pronouncement.

The case has tended relations between the United States and Sweden. President Donald Trump accused late July Stockholm of despising the fate of black Americans and sent to the trial his special envoy on hostage affairs, Robert O'Brien.

If the judges declare A $ AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, guilty of violence, the musician should not return to Sweden to serve his sentence, according to Dennis Martinsson, professor of law at Stockholm University.

Asked by the local TT agency, he predicts that given the elements of the trial, the artist could either be sentenced to a suspended sentence and fined, or to "a short prison sentence" that would cover his month of custody.

Theoretically, A $ AP Rocky incurs up to two years in prison and a fine.

- "Self-defense" -

Part of the trial was devoted to the analysis of video evidence. On an amateur recording first broadcast by the site specializing in celebrities TMZ and broadcast during the trial, the artist, visiting the Swedish capital for a concert, puts a young man on the ground and then hits him.

A $ AP Rocky, judged alongside two other people around him, gave his side of the story. "We tried to move away, when we went away we were followed," he calmly assured the bar. He also said that the "intrepid" behavior of the victim had scared him.

The victim, a 19-year-old Afghan, said he was "beaten" by four people. "Two (of them) tried to cut me with glass," he said.

A $ AP Rocky, 30, had admitted to having "thrown" his victim on the ground before "kicking his arm" - in order to help his bodyguard, who was attacked by the complainant and a friend.

The defense claimed the release. The prosecution took six months in prison, finding A $ AP Rocky and his co-defendants assaulted the victim when they had the number and physical strength for them.

- "Frightening experience" -

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fans, my friends and all those who have supported me in recent weeks (...), it was a very difficult and humiliating experience" wrote A $ AP Rock on his release on his Instagram account.

The rapper had immediately left Sweden on a private jet to the west coast of the United States. He gave Sunday his first concert since returning to the Real Street Festival in Anaheim, California.

The opportunity for him to discuss his detention: "you can not even know how happy I am to be here, it was a frightening experience," he told the audience, quoted by the radio American KRRL.

"Let's hope that with the judgment of God, I will not be found guilty," he added.
