In Japan, 23 people died from the heat in a week

According to the agency, the largest number of victims was recorded in the Japanese capital of Tokyo - 1,465 people were taken to hospitals, as well as in the prefectures of Saitama (977 people) and Osaka (897 people).

In July, it was reported that more than 400 residents of Japan were hospitalized per day with signs of heat stroke due to hot weather.

In July 2018, Tokyo recorded a record heat in the entire history of observations.
