Germany evaluated data on US plans to withdraw military from Germany
Ulrike Demmer, deputy spokesman for the FRG government, commented on a statement by the American ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell about the US intention to withdraw part of its military from German territory.
“The German government has no information that the withdrawal of US troops from Germany and their transfer to Poland is planned,” RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
Grenell said earlier that the Pentagon could transfer part of its troops from Germany to Poland due to the fact that Berlin has not yet increased defense spending to 2% of GDP.
In response to this, the leader of the Left Party faction in the Bundestag, Dietmar Barch, proposed to the American side "to bring along its own nuclear missiles."
