An automatic ticket paid 2 euros and validated in Lodi, near Milan, won the jackpot of 209 million euros, setting a new record in Italy, according to the site of the Italian Superenalotto.
The game requires betting on six numbers from 1 to 90, and no one has found the vouchers since June 2018. It's finally the 7, 32, 41, 59, 75 and 76 randomly selected by a machine in a bar. Lodi who won the draw on Tuesday night.
"How to know who validated it ... Today it was a continuous flow, people came in and asked for a ticket at random, and I printed, I printed," testified in the media Guglielmo Poggi, the boss of the bar.
The previous record of the Italian Superenalotto was 177 million euros won in October 2010.
In France, where the gains are redistributed after three months if no one wins the jackpot, the lotto record remained at 24 million euros in June 2011.
The new Italian record also exceeds the Euromillion, whose jackpot is capped at 190 million euros. The figure has already been reached three times, in August 2012 in England, in October 2014 in Portugal and in October 2017 in Spain.
Sums that are finally anecdotal face the jackpot of $ 1.537 billion (1.37 billion euros, before taxes) won in October 2018 in the US Mega Millions by a resident of South Carolina remained anonymous.
