It was last week that a person in a wheelchair would be helped to get to his apartment in Södertälje by lift. But the home service employee should have left the person alone in the stairwell when the elevator was broken. In total, the wheelchair-bound person, who is diabetic, should have been left in the stairwell for just over three hours. According to the municipality's incident report, the person was missing a mobile phone at the time and therefore could not call for help.

The employee must have stated that they had to go to other users and then came and looked at the person a couple of times.

Employees are warned

The affected person is said to have felt very insecure, sad and depressed after the incident. And they cried a lot when the manager called.

Södertälje Municipality now announces that the employee will receive a reminder for his actions as it "is a serious incident".
