According to him, US pilots are “well prepared” and clearly understand their task in terms of patrolling.
“Regarding the provocations on the part of Russia and what this can mean from the point of view of Russia, I would say that our goal is to be ready to defend ourselves and restrain any activity of Russia,” the commander said.
Earlier, sailors of the Northern Fleet began exercises to detect and destroy conditional enemy submarines on the border of the Barents and Norwegian seas.
Also, the Arctic detachment of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet conducted anti-terrorist exercises in the area of Novaya Zemlya.
