This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the Director General of the Zvezda Research and Production Enterprise Sergey Pozdnyakov.

“In connection with the Syrian events, again, as in the days of Afghanistan, the issue of modernizing the unloading vest for combat aviation pilots, placing signal flare guns, medical supplies, food and water, grenades, a pistol, etc., became urgent,” said Pozdnyakov.

He added that the company is currently adapting the vest and its contents to critical conditions when ejecting from an airplane.

According to him, preliminary requirements for the vest are formed and a prototype is made.

“By autumn, it is planned to formulate the final terms of reference and present the vest for testing next year,” said Pozdnyakov.

In February, the head of the Main Directorate of the Military Police of Russia Vladimir Ivanovsky said that about 60% of the personnel of the Russian military police had experience in the service in Syria.
