Around 40 towns and villages in the Idlib and Hama countryside have been completely destroyed and about 60 of them are empty due to the ongoing military campaign by regime forces and Russia.

According to the Syrian Response Coordinators, the shelling destroyed more than 230 service facilities, including hospitals, medical centers and schools.

Al-Jazeera correspondent monitored the huge destruction that is spreading over large areas in Idlib and Hama countryside.

Due to the ongoing campaign by regime forces and Russia, some 730,000 displaced people live in the open and sunshine at the border with Turkey. Activists and relief officials have repeatedly sent urgent messages to the Security Council and the international community to rescue the victims.

Late last month, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lokok said during a Security Council briefing that the Syrian regime had committed a three-month massacre in Idlib, causing 450 deaths and displacing half a million Syrians.

Lukok called for clarification from Russia on the reason for targeting hospitals and schools, although the United Nations provided details of its coordinates to the Russian side to prevent targeting, but the Russian delegate insisted during the hearing to justify the bombing, allegedly aimed at "terrorists."
