It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Maas noted frequent attacks on medical personnel, civilians, and humanitarian workers in the SAR.

“When the most basic humanitarian principles are in jeopardy, the Council must take action. Our duty is to do this, ”he said.

Maas also said that for the sake of saving human lives, UN officials must overcome existing differences.

“Criminals should know that they will not go unpunished,” said Maas, urging the organization’s influence to be respected in compliance with international humanitarian law.

In March, Maas announced the impossibility of resolving the crisis in the SAR without Russia.
