Senators rejected on Tuesday evening the proposal of Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, pushing back to August 20 any decision on the fate of the Italian government.

The Italian Senate has postponed to August 20 any decision on the fate of the government of Giuseppe Conte, who will speak on that day in front of parliamentarians, but can not be overthrown by a vote of no confidence.

Senators have indeed rejected Tuesday evening a proposal of the Minister of the Interior Matteo Salvini, the leader of the League (far right), to sign the end of the government he formed 14 months ago with the Movement 5 Stars (M5S, anti-system).
