Microsoft threw in the towel and stopped working on an ambitious project to renovate "Minecraft" because the company turned out to be "too technically complicated," according to a blog from the team that runs this adventure game and successful building.

Microsoft has announced its project dubbed the "Super Duper Graphics Packs" or "pack graphics sensass" loud noise at the E3 2017, the largest meeting of the world video games.

Despite the enthusiasm, "we were unfortunately not satisfied with the performance of + package + on different devices," writes the team on the blog, which explains working on other ways to give "a new look to the experience Minecraft".

"Thank you and sorry for not going to the end of our project," Microsoft apologizes.

Minecraft - whose pixelated appearance of characters and props is the hallmark - can build a whole world alone or online with other players. This digital version inspired by the analog universe created by Lego and its plastic bricks, is immensely popular with a young audience.

In May, Minecraft, which turns 10, said it sold 176 million versions of the game. In October 2018, Business Insider said the game drew 91 million players every month.
