NRK has spoken to friends and acquaintances of the suspect. Svein Vestrum Olsson says that they describe him as intelligent, good at school and well-liked, but that he began to change clearly a year ago.

- He talked a lot about women being inferior to men and about immigration, which he opposed.

On Monday, the Norwegian security police stated that they received a tip about a year ago about the suspected man and that the case was handed over to the Oslo police, but never followed up.

- The Oslo police say tonight that they should probably have contacted the man, which they never did. It will be important in the next few days to see how the tip was handled, says Svein Vestrum Olsson.
