Local media testified that witnesses first jumped into the water to save the drowning and both died.

The possibility of drowning has been raised, and Croatian police have decided to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Krka National Park, in south-east Croatia, is a popular river and forest destination and is packed with tourists all year round.

In 2016, a 25-year-old Singapore university student drowned in a year, swimming and swimming in a similar place.

The park says it is considering a ban on accident waters for safety reasons.
