Adrian Mannarino of France, ranked 59th in the world, qualified for the second round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000, beating Chilean Cristian Garin (32) 6-4, 6-1 on Monday.

Mannarino, 31, victorious this year on turf at s-Hertegenbosh, in the Netherlands, will face Kazakhstan's Mikhael Kukushkin, the 46th player in the world, and "lucky loser" who replaced Spain's Rafael in the next round. Nadal, lost after winning the Masters 1000 Montreal on Sunday.
