Experts tested the lighting system of the railway crossing on the bridge across the Kerch Strait. This was announced on Monday, August 12, in the information center "Crimean bridge". For verification, a kilometer stretch closer to the Taman coast was chosen, on which almost 150 lamps were turned on for three hours.

“The installation of the lighting system on the bridge continues. We install equipment step by step and check that each section of tracks and inspection passages for their maintenance is lit evenly. In the pilot section, the light intensity is sufficient for good visibility, while the brightness threshold is not exceeded: the light will not dazzle train drivers, ”said Oleg Severa, lead engineer for technical supervision at SGM-Most.

It is noted that the lighting system consists of almost 2.5 thousand lamps located on racks in increments of 13 to 16 meters. In total, this gives about 60 thousand LEDs that have energy-saving properties.

The system is automated - it will turn on itself at night (when the intensity of sunlight drops to 20 lux) and turn off in the morning. However, the possibility of more accurate, remote configuration is also provided - from the Crimean Bridge Production Control Center.

The information center reported that at the moment about 60% of racks with flashlights are installed, which are mounted on both sides of the tracks. It is emphasized separately that the characteristics of the fixtures were selected based on climatic realities.

“Lighting devices were selected taking into account the climatic features of the region: storms and fogs often occur in the Kerch Strait. Lamps - moisture resistant, with anti-corrosion protection of the housing. The stream of light is directional for contrast visibility in any weather. The color temperature is close to natural white light, ”the website says.

The installation of architectural lighting on the main - fairway - section of the bridge also continues. After the launch of the railway, it will be lit in the colors of the Russian flag. On July 18, the Krymsky Bridge information center reported that red and blue diodes were already installed on railway and car arches. The total length of the backlight in the form of a tricolor will be more than a kilometer.

"The focus has shifted to the Crimean bridge"

It is noted that before the completion of the construction of the railway part of the Crimean bridge, a "large complex of works" has yet to be completed. In particular, it is necessary to complete the device of the upper track structure, to install noise screens and treatment facilities.

“Next, the arrangement of railways with railway automation will begin - these are signaling, centralization and blocking devices. The construction of buildings for the maintenance service is ongoing, ”the Info Center said.

It is worth recalling that all the rails on the Crimean bridge were laid on July 18. The launch of the first passenger and freight trains is scheduled for the end of 2019. The automobile part of the Crimean bridge was opened in May 2018.

Since the beginning of its work, about 6 million cars have traveled over the bridge. In 2019 alone, according to the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, over 2.5 million cars drove along the bridge.

“The emphasis on cargo and passenger traffic has almost shifted to the Crimean bridge by 60%. This also applies to the resort sector, ”he said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Aksyonov, the commissioning of the transport passage through the Kerch Strait had a beneficial effect on the tourism sector of the region. So, thanks to him, the occupancy rate of placements is up to 80-90%, the head of the republic emphasized.

According to the regional Ministry of Tourism at the beginning of August, the total number of vacationers on the peninsula since the beginning of the year exceeded 4 million people, which is 11% higher than the figures for the same period in 2018. At the same time, 58% of the total tourist flow entered the Krymsky Bridge, the ministry said.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, this indicator indicates the importance of the development of transport infrastructure.

“Of the total number of arrivals for the first half of the year, 58% entered the republic via the Crimean bridge. This is wonderful, and this once again emphasizes the importance of developing infrastructure, especially the main one, which ensures the accessibility of Crimean resorts, ”she said during a meeting on the development of sports, culture and tourism of the peninsula.

So, in 2018, the tourist flow to the Crimea set a record for the entire post-Soviet period - 6.8 million people visited the peninsula. However, according to the head of the republic, Sergei Aksyonov, an increase in tourist flow in 2019 is expected to reach 7.1 million people. And the chairman of the State Council of the Republic, Vladimir Konstantinov, had not previously ruled out that this figure could reach 7.5 million tourists.
