The start of the season was good with a sunny day on Friday. During the weekend, however, the weather became more windy and cloudy, which affected the number of fishermen.

Ahead of the season, the Swedish University of Agriculture's forecast was that the catch would be greater than last year. It seems so far so far, although there have been a large number of small cancers that have been raised.

- The size of the crayfish seems a little delayed. The larger crayfish will enter the catch, but for the time being there have been very much smaller crayfish, says Michael Bergström, fisheries supervisor in Vättern.

Fewer crimes

According to Michael Bergström, it seems that fewer crimes have been reported so far, such as stolen cages, than last year. He himself has made six police reports.

The most common crime is fishing with unlabeled cages or using too many. This weekend Michael Bergström found a cancer link with a total of 46 cages. The allowed number of cages in a cancer link is only six.
