A sailing boat carrying 16 migrants was intercepted this morning by the Guardia di Finanza off Tricase, in front of the Apulian coasts. Migrants, mostly families of Iranian and Iraqi nationality including a minor, were escorted to Otranto and assisted by Red Cross volunteers. The position of two other men aboard the boat is being investigated by investigators as suspected of being smugglers.
