"Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw", the latest episode of the favorite franchise of racing cars and big biscotos, has retained its first place at the North American box office but with much less spectators than the weekend last, according to estimates published Sunday by the specialized company Exhibitor Relations.

This new episode of the hit series, which focuses on characters Hobbs (played by Dwayne Johnson) and Shaw (Jason Statham), raised $ 25.4 million for its second weekend of operation.

Last week, the roaring blockbuster had raised more than $ 60 million in the United States and Canada.

A considerable loss of speed but sufficient to keep the first place of the box office, in front of "Scary Stories" (20.8 million), horror film directed by the Norwegian André Ovredal and in particular produced by the Mexican Guillermo del Toro

Third place goes to Disney's "Lion King", shot this time through an innovative process on a virtual reality platform that collects $ 20 million.

Then we find $ 17 million for her first weekend "Dora and the Lost City", a children's and teenage adventure film adapted from the famous animated series "Dora the Explorer".

The last place in the Top 5 is Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in ... Hollywood" and his $ 11.6 million. In total, the film has exceeded $ 100 million at the North American box office

Here is the rest of the Top 10:

6) "The Art of Racing in the Rain" (8.1 million)

7) "The Barons" (5.5 million)

8) "Spider-Man: Far From Home" (5.3 million)

9) "Toy Story 4" (4.4 million)
