Heavy thunderstorm rained on holy sites in Mecca at a time when more than 2 million pilgrims were performing the greatest pillar of the pilgrimage, standing at Arafat's level, before they fled to Muzdalifah.

The social media platforms circulated several videos documenting the heavy rains that fell on Arafat, Mona and Muzdalifa, and led to a remarkable drop in temperatures from about forty to 23 degrees in just a few minutes.

Oh God, as it rained on us the rain rained on our hearts answer invitations😭 #Day_knowledge_1440 # Arafa_pic.twitter.com/Anjz6Wh1J2

In some passages, pilgrims were sheltering inside the Grand Mosque and under bridges, while Diouf Rahman was at Arafat's level and in open areas sheltering parachutes.

Subsequently, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims began to flee to Muzdalifah and the rains were still continuing, but with less abundance. Overall, the movement of pilgrims was not affected by the rainy weather.

No god but Allah alone for his partner has the king and him and he is on all things Qadir🧡🧡🧡.

A video showed thick clouds and lightning in the skies of Mecca. This is not the first time that Ghaith has landed on Umm al-Qura during the Hajj season, and last year thunderstorms of moderate to heavy rainfall without affecting the movement of pilgrims.

The Saudi Civil Defense called on pilgrims to take caution and avoid low places in Mecca and holy feelings or contact with metal objects conducting electricity after the rain.
