The Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in a telephone conversation with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan the need for calm and restraint and resort to resolve the Kashmir crisis through dialogue between Pakistan and India.
During the call, they reviewed the latest developments in the region and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields.
On Monday, the Indian Justice Ministry published a copy of the text of the presidential decree abolishing article 370 of the constitution, which guaranteed autonomy for the state of Jammu and Kashmir, noting that the decision came into force immediately.
The provision has granted the people of Jammu and Kashmir since 1974 the right to a special constitution that guarantees them decision-making independently of the central government.
