The president of the acting Government and general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, starts his summer vacation outside Madrid on Saturday to gain strength before trying to be invested in September and not have to repeat the general elections. In this way, he undertakes a family break after holding in just one week 14 meetings with a total of 146 social and collective representatives.

Sanchez himself verbalized this Friday his intention to start a round of meetings at the end of August or the beginning of September to negotiate an open program with United We and the other parliamentary forces, with which he intends to unblock his investiture.

The PSOE will now prepare a document of proposals that, according to the president, will emanate from the different meetings he has held in recent days with social agents and representatives from different sectors.

The first meeting was held on the morning of August 1 with different equality associations . After that meeting, Calvo said that many proposals were raised, especially from the feminist movement, to "not take a step back. We must continue betting on the safety of women and against sexist violence, which are questioned by Vox" and he added that these associations want "for Spain to have a progressive government soon."

In the afternoon, the leader of the PSOE heard the proposals of the science and digitalization sector, accompanied by the Ministers of Science, Pedro Duque, and Economy, Nadia Calviño.

After the weekend, the acting President of the Government resumed his agenda of meetings with environmental groups such as WWF, Seo BirdLife, Greenpeace, Ecologists in Action ...

The next day, Sanchez met, accompanied by the acting Minister of Education, Isabel Celáa, with educational associations, who addressed the need for the Education Law approved by the Government to enter the parliamentary process, among other matters.

The acting government president closed Tuesday meeting with representatives of Third Sector organizations dedicated to combating social inequality. And on Wednesday it was the turn of associations and companies in the field of industry, commerce and tourism.

On Thursday, Sanchez met with the agri-food sector accompanied by the minister of the branch, Luis Planas. And with the general secretaries of UGT and CCOO, Pepe Álvarez and Unai Sordo, respectively, who made it clear that they do not contemplate electoral repetition.

He also held a meeting with the presidents of CEOE and Cepyme, Antonio Garamendi and Gerardo Cueva, respectively, who asked Sánchez for stability and moderation in the face of negotiations for a new Government. And finally, Sanchez met Friday with associations from the world of culture.

The head of the acting Executive plans to resume the week of August 19 his agenda of meetings with groups linked to civil society to attract external support from Podemos to a progressive government.
