The Israeli newspaper Haaretz published an analytical article saying that the failure of the Saudi military campaign in Yemen is bad news for Israel, noting that the Gulf countries are turning to Iran.

Amos Harel said the growing Houthi influence in the region helps facilitate the smuggling of Iranian arms across the Red Sea and ends up in the hands of Hamas, which raises fears.

He points out that the signs of rift are emerging in the coalition that the United States had hoped to harness against Iran, and US policy of restraint seems to be pushing the Gulf states to reconsider their policy with Iran, which explains the change in the UAE's position.

The newspaper believes that the absence of UAE support will inevitably lead to the failure of Saudi Arabia's ambitions to defeat the Houthis in Yemen, allowing Iran to rely on them to smuggle weapons through the Strait of Bab al-Mandab, with Gaza as one of its last stops.
