"Emergency zones are defined within the boundaries of the Transbaikal, Kalgan, Priargunsky, Nerchinsk-Zavodsky districts, the city of Krasnokamensk and Krasnokamensky district, the rural settlements of Tarbagataiskoye and Zugmarsky, Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky rayon," the government website said in a statement.
In addition, it was decided to create an operational headquarters for emergency response, which will include representatives of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
It was previously reported that the area of forest fires in Siberian regions exceeds 1.5 million hectares.
At the same time, the Ministry of Emergencies noted the persistence of smoke from forest fires in 93 settlements of Siberia and the Far East.
The chairman of the State Duma’s defense committee, Colonel-General Vladimir Shamanov, in an interview with the FAN, said that the scale of the fires in the Far Eastern Siberian zone exceeded the capabilities of the Ministry of Emergencies, and therefore the forces of the Ministry of Defense were involved.
