Shortly after ten o'clock on Friday morning, a person called the police on the occasion of an unknown man of 20 years of age behaving strangely at a boat dock in Torshällaån in Eskilstuna.

- He had come and asked for gasoline for his boat. That in itself is not that strange, but maybe something in his way was a bit strange. Then there have been a lot of boat thefts in this area, says police spokesman Erik Terneborn.

Swim with the boat in tow

- When he was questioned, he took to the escape, and then it became more suspicious of course. He jumped in the plume and pulled the boat into a tamp.

After more than 20 minutes, the police arrived at the scene, and the suspected man remained in the water.

- When we got there he didn't want to communicate or answer us.

The police were there for about an hour before the man could be arrested.

Jumped around on boats

- It was a little cat and rat game. He jumped up and down in the water and climbed around boats there. We were not in the water but were staying ashore. Eventually he came up and tried to run, but then we could arrest the person.

The boat was secured and docked at a dock. The man is suspected of stealing a boat.
