“President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky met with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on the second day of his official visit to Turkey on August 8,” the statement said.
The meeting took place at the residence of the patriarch in Fanar. Details of the conversation are not given.
Zelensky said earlier that he would meet with U.S. leader Donald Trump in Washington in September 2019.
