The clashes broke out for the second day in a row after the Transitional Council forces attempted to storm the presidential palace, after the Vice-President of the Council called on his supporters and forces loyal to him to storm the presidential palace, and overthrow the government.

Residents in Aden told Agence France-Presse that the movement had stopped completely on the main streets of the city as a result of the fighting, and shells landed in residential neighborhoods.
