Previously, Pakistan, following India’s decision to abolish the special autonomous status of Jammu and Kashmir, lowered diplomatic relations with New Delhi and suspended trade with a neighboring state.
Kashmir is a disputed territory between India and Pakistan.
The issue of Kashmir’s affiliation has repeatedly become an occasion for armed conflict between neighboring states.
