US President Donald Trump has repeatedly called for a significant cut in interest rates for the central bank's Federal Reserve, saying US manufacturers are struggling with the strong dollar.

Trump posted on Twitter saying, "As your president, people will think I'll be impressed with our very strong dollars."

"The high rate of the Fed keeps the dollar higher than other countries, making it more difficult for our great manufacturers, including Caterpillar, Boeing, John Deere, automakers and others, to compete on a level playing field." Said.

Caterpillar heavy machinery makers, aircraft manufacturers Boeing, agricultural machinery brands John Deere, and automobile companies are known to be relatively influenced by exchange rates and trade policies because they buy parts from abroad and export finished goods to the global market.
