The municipal council and the chairman of the municipal council Torkild Strandberg (L) found out about the explosion through a telephone call from the city director.

"It's extremely frustrating," he told SVT's envoy on the site.

He does not want to speculate on whether the explosion may have been particularly directed at the employees of the City Hall or if it was a coincidence that it happened at that particular building.

- What I can ascertain is that no matter what the background to this is, it is a social obligation that the people who commit themselves to this are arrested and prosecuted.

Must review security

- Here, society must act with vigor and put the silk gloves on the shelf and make sure that those who do this must bear the consequences of it.

Strandberg says he does not know that any threats will have been directed at Landskrona, but that security will be reviewed in the morning. The political leadership will gather during the day.

- Now it is primarily the police who will ensure that there is no risk associated with the City Hall.

The employees of the City Hall will work as usual during Thursday.

Criminal settlements

In the summer, Landskrona has been shaken by three attempted murders in suspected settlements between criminals, where explosive charges have been placed in the city's central parts.

- This is a phenomenon that has escalated in many parts of the country. I believe that it is extremely important for confidence in organized society that this will be rectified, both in Landskrona and elsewhere, he says.
