According to the prosecutor of the region, Mikhail Savchin, in places where "sanitary" logging was carried out, the absence of signs of fire was established.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against employees of the budgetary institution "Abanskoye lesnichestvo" under Part 3 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Abuse of official authority").
On July 29 and August 1, five criminal cases were initiated on similar facts, the prosecutor added.
“So far, it has been established that illegal logging was carried out on an area of more than 60 hectares. The damage caused to the state amounted to at least 32 million rubles, ”he said.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office announced cases of intentional arson of a forest in Siberia.
