A few hundred letters and parcels that were placed in a mailbox at Forserum station have not gone away. For five weeks, the mailbox has not been emptied.

- It's serious, people should be able to trust PostNord. We can do nothing but apologize to people in Forserum. It is very boring, says Lars-Åke Fransson, regional director of PostNord to SVT.

double Miss

It was in connection with a major reorganization of the emptying system that the mailbox was dropped. Previously, a taxi company emptied the box for PostNord, but now the postal company itself would take over, something that was missed.
Since July 1st, all mailboxes also have a barcode that allows you to see that the box has been emptied, but that code did not appear on the mailbox in Forserum, and thus you could not see that the box was not emptied.

- It was a private person who wondered why a letter about change of ownership of a car was not registered that heard of it, and that the miss was discovered, says Lars-Åke Fransson.

How much mail was there in the box?

- It was a sack - maybe around 200 shipments.

In addition to the change of ownership, PostNord knows that some letters to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and a register extract for a school job were among the items. The mailbox was emptied during Wednesday.

Looks over all mailboxes

However, they will not be able to count on any compensation, as there is no guarantee for regular mail. PostNord will now, however, review that no more similar misses have occurred in connection with the rescheduling on July 1st.

- We do not think any more mailboxes have been lost, but as a security measure we have today been tasked with reviewing all the boxes throughout the country, says Lars-Åke Fransson.
