ASEAN New Headquarters Building Completed 52 years since its establishment August 8, Indonesia 14:49

ASEAN = Association of Southeast Asian Nations is 52 years since its establishment on the 8th. In Indonesia's capital Jakarta, a new headquarters building was completed and a commemorative ceremony was held.

The headquarters building of the ASEAN Secretariat in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, has been completed as two 16-story buildings have been constructed with funds from the Indonesian government due to aging.

On the 8th, as ASEAN was established in 1967, 52 years ago, a ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the new building with the participation of representatives from ASEAN member countries and diplomatic officials from each country.

At the ceremony, Indonesian President Joko handed over the key to ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jokhoi.

“We hope this new building will be the foundation for deepening cooperation in the ASEAN region over the next 50 years,” welcomed the completion of the new building.

The completion of this building is expected to make it possible to consolidate and hold large-scale meetings and conferences by persons in charge from ASEAN countries, thereby improving the efficiency of operations.

In Southeast Asia, the United States and China are trying to expand their influence, and in the future, ASEAN has become a major issue whether it can be united for the stability of the region and maintain its ability to speak.
