He noted that all the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs who participated in opposing Atambayev’s supporters were without weapons.

On August 7, Kyrgyz special services began an operation to detain ex-president Almazbek Atambayev at his residence in the village of Koy-Tash. According to recent reports, 52 people were injured as a result of the assault, one was killed.

Atambayev’s supporters took the six special forces soldiers hostage. The Ministry of Health said that their condition is moderate.
