The Sudanese Railways Authority announced that the Atbara train, the Sudanese city known for being the stronghold of the revolution, will arrive in Khartoum with thousands of Sudanese to participate in the victory of the revolution by signing the constitutional document agreement between the military council and the forces of freedom and change on December 18.

The railway statement said that «the body, which since its inception has been at the forefront of the changes in government since colonialism and independence until now, and thanks to it became the city of Atbara, the capital of the struggle against tyranny, and participated in the sit-in leadership, decided to participate in the momentum celebrations of the agreement and run the train of victory.

The Atbara train, which carried thousands to participate in the sit-in, and received cheering «fell fell - Atbara arrived», has become the talk of news agencies, newspapers and satellite channels, with a reference to the distinctive Sudanese imprint in political expression and peaceful protests.

He said «the gathering of professionals in the Atbara sector» moment of arrival during the sit-in that «all the professionals of the Nile came to the headquarters of the sit-in Khartoum to complement the successes of the revolution and the dawn of freedom and the rule of law to emancipate the former regime».

Atbara, according to followers of the Sudanese scene, is the citadel of protests against military and totalitarian regimes historically in Sudan, where railway workers played a role in the overthrow of the regime of Ibrahim Abboud 1964 and Jaafarnmiri 1985, and represented the base from which sparked the December 2018 revolution that overthrew the regime of Omar al-Bashir .
