UK will check reports of possible torture in “Crosses”
Investigators organized a preliminary investigation after media reports of possible torture in the Kresty-2 detention center, located on the territory of the Kolpinsky district in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the GSU SK in St. Petersburg.
Earlier in the media, there were reports of beatings of prisoners in the Kresty jail in Kolpin.
“As part of the pre-investigation check, a legal assessment will be given to actions (inaction) by the administration of the specified institution,” the statement said.
In turn, the head of the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service, internal service major Olga Konchakovskaya, during a conversation with Channel Five, said that representatives of the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of St. Petersburg and the PMC have regularly visited Crosses since the beginning of this year.
Earlier it became known that the Federal Penitentiary Service will check reports of the use of physical force on suspects held in Crosses.
