France: the eternal return of green algae in Brittany

In France, green algae are a plague that has hit the Brittany coast for decades. But this year is breaking records because of a favorable climate. Exceeded, some municipalities had to close their beaches. For far from being a visual or olfactory discomfort, algae, while rotting, can generate deadly toxic gases. In the past, suspicious human and animal deaths have occurred, forcing the state to help municipalities collect seaweed and fight against the causes of their spread, largely related to the development of intensive livestock breeding.
