For now, no information suggests that the Franco-Irish left the south of Malaysia, where she was last seen Saturday night.

Police in Malaysia scan fingerprints on the window frame of the hotel where a young Franco-Irish girl disappeared overnight Saturday, police sources told AFP on Wednesday, while divers have surveyed a watercourse.

The experts who found these fingerprints did not say who they belonged to, told reporters Che Zakaria Othman, deputy director of the police in the state of Negeri Sembilan (south) where the hotel is located. "We do not exclude any possibility but so far we have no information," he said, questioned in Seremban, capital of this state. "We still think she is in the area because there is no information that she has left," he added.

The police also interviewed around 20 witnesses, including members of the girl's family. On the fourth day of the search, involving a helicopter, two drones, tracking dogs and 214 people from various jurisdictions, divers on Wednesday probed a watercourse near Dusun Resort.

Fifteen-year-old Nora Quoirin disappeared in the night from Saturday to Sunday at Dusun Resort, a tourist resort on the edge of a rainforest about 70 km from Kuala Lumpur. The teenager, who has learning difficulties, arrived Saturday in Malaysia for a vacation. She lives in London with her parents, a French-Irish couple.

The family fears a criminal act and his grandfather, Sylvain Quoirin, said Tuesday that "she disappeared under extremely mysterious conditions, since she was sleeping in her room with her sister and her brother". While police treat the case as a disappearance, Sylvain Quoirin pointed out that the girl was "absolutely not" used to running away.
