“As for the note of protest ... then we do not accept these protests. The Ambassador (of Japan to Russia. - RT ) Kozuki once again stated (Morgulov. - RT ) the position of our state and explained that such submissions from the Russian side are unacceptable, ”TASS quoted him as saying.

As Yoshihide Suga noted, the Japanese government is going to continue active negotiations with the Russian side on the basis of its basic position - “the decision of a peace treaty and the conclusion of a peace treaty following it”.

He also added that the negotiations should be carried out "in a quiet, calm atmosphere."

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry handed a note of protest to the Japanese ambassador after violations in the South Kuril Islands committed by Japanese participants in visa-free exchanges with the islands.

As indicated, Morgulov drew the attention of the diplomat to the unacceptability of the "protests" of Japan in connection with the actions of Russia on its territory.

On August 5, Japan protested over exercises in the Kuril Islands. Also, the Japanese Foreign Ministry called the visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Iturup extremely unfortunate.
