As Yoshihide Suga noted, the Japanese government is going to continue active negotiations with the Russian side on the basis of its basic position - “the decision of a peace treaty and the conclusion of a peace treaty following it”.
He also added that the negotiations should be carried out "in a quiet, calm atmosphere."
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry handed a note of protest to the Japanese ambassador after violations in the South Kuril Islands committed by Japanese participants in visa-free exchanges with the islands.
As indicated, Morgulov drew the attention of the diplomat to the unacceptability of the "protests" of Japan in connection with the actions of Russia on its territory.
