SVT has previously reported the missing siblings who are between seven and 14 years. Two of the siblings, a 7-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl, applied for asylum in Sweden in November 2018. They were placed with relatives in Perstorp municipality, and their siblings also arrived in February 2019.
But the municipality rejected the relatives' application to become a family home and placed the children in another home. From there, according to the municipality, they probably disappeared of their own free will.

Now a month has passed, the children are still missing and no authority is looking for them.

Perstorp Municipality has written the case since the siblings disappeared.

This should not be the case, according to the County Administrative Board of Skåne, which writes in its collaboration plan:

“Every child has the right to have someone who looks after them when they disappear. In this respect, an unaccompanied child who disappears must not be treated differently than any other child who disappears ”.

"Police and the Swedish Migration Agency's responsibility"

According to the Perstorp Social Administration, the case lies with the police and the Migration Board.

- The police have received the report and have also searched in connection with the disappearance, says Patrik Wilhelmsson.

But the information is dismissed by the police.

Are you looking for four missing children in Perstorp?

- I have no case regarding missing persons affecting four children, says Kent Persson, Criminal Commissioner in Helsingborg.

The Migration Board has written off the case

The notification to the Migration Board has no effect as the case is written off even there.

- If children disappear then it is not possible to investigate the need for protection, so for us it is about writing off the case, says Sophia Öhvall Lindberg at the Migration Board.

The Migration Board is responsible for the children's asylum, which means that if they show up and again want to apply for asylum, the case will be relevant.

No overall responsibility

A source close to the children's relatives tells SVT that they feel great concern for the siblings. Neither are the relatives reported to know where the children are.

- The family is feeling extremely bad and afraid, the source says.
