“The words and actions of the American side are gross interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela and seriously violate the basic norms of international relations, and China strongly opposes this,” her statement said.

She noted that China will continue to cooperate with the Latin American country, and the US should "learn from history and abandon attempts to provoke contention."

Earlier, US President Donald Trump signed a decree implying blocking the ownership of Venezuelan authorities in US jurisdiction.

In accordance with the decree, the Central Bank of Venezuela and the oil company PDVSA fall under asset blocking.
