Togolese artist Jimi Hope died on the night of Sunday 4 to Monday 5 August. He was jazz, rock and blues; he was a painter, sculptor and draftsman; he had to his credit more than a dozen albums and more than 200 paintings. Jimi Hope was a complete artist whom Togolese people cry.

All Togo is in turmoil. On his Twitter account, Faure Gnassingbé, the President of the Republic speaks of " an accomplished contemporary artist who makes the Togolese people proud of his culture. "

I salute the memory of the illustrious deceased. A great man who honors our country.
