As indicated on the agency’s website, as of August 6, more than 650 thousand ha of forest were burning in the Irkutsk region.
“As of the morning of August 6, 132 fires are operating in the Irkutsk region on an area of 650 thousand 400 ha, of which 15 fires are localized on an area of 13 thousand 500.7 ha,” the report said.
It is specified that there is no threat to human settlements. However, the department added that two fires were registered in the Bodaibo and Kirensky districts three kilometers from the settlements of Svetly and Nikolsk.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense aviation eliminated fires on an area of 753 thousand hectares in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Irkutsk Region in four days.
URA.RU also reported that since the beginning of the fire hazard in 2019, 104 outbreaks of natural fires have been registered in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
