Chosun Central Broadcasting Corp. reported that North Korea launched a new tactical demonstration bombing demonstration yesterday while Kim Jong Un attended.

Chosun Central Broadcaster said, "Two tactical grenades launched from the western airfield flew over the metropolitan area and the central inland zone, and precisely hit the target islands of the East Sea."

The broadcasting also said, "With the demonstration of power, the reliability, safety, and capability of the new tactical guided weapon system have been undoubtedly verified."

Kim Jong-un said the military action would be an opportunity to send warnings against joint military exercises held by US and South Korean authorities.

In response to the launch, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced yesterday that "North Korea has captured two projectiles, which are believed to be short-range ballistic missiles fired from the fruit group of Hwanghaenam-do."

Earlier, North Korea announced that it had fired a new tactical guided weapon on the Hodo Peninsula in Hamgyong-nam Province on the 25th, and a new Taegu light-controlled gun fired gun on the 31st of March, Wonsan on Galma Peninsula, and Yeongheung, Hamgyongnam-do on Monday.

The military believes both of these projectiles are similar to a new type of short-range ballistic missile called the North Korean Iskander, which was launched May 4 and 9.
