06 August 2019The Municipality of Bologna has undertaken to find a new location for the collective 'Xm24' by next 15 November.It is the outcome of the meeting at the Police Headquarters in Bologna between the Councilor for Culture, Matteo Lepore, and some members of the social center evicted this morning. A meeting that lasted more than two hours.
In the meeting report, signed by Lepore and the Xm24 delegation, it "recognizes the importance of the political, social and cultural planning of the public space Xm24" and "we undertake to find a new suitable venue in which to restart the activities of the space as soon as possible and no later than 15 November 2019, starting from the evaluation of the properties previously proposed by Xm24 on 1 August ". The next meetings will take place on a fortnightly basis.
After more than 12 hours of garrison on the roof of the former fruit and vegetable market in Via Fioravanti, in the Bolognina area of Bologna, the Xm24 activists have therefore descended from the roof. A decision taken at the end of the meeting at the police station between some representatives of the self-managed public space, vacated today after 17 years, and representatives of the Municipality.
