According to RIA Novosti, the corresponding proposal Petrov sent to the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.

The deputy explained his position by the fact that young people are abusing loans and this attitude to loans ultimately encourages financial institutions to “lure” young people into “credit slavery”.

“The current course of things in this area negatively affects state interests in supporting the development of the institution of marriage, childbearing and investment in our future. Considering the above reasons, I ask you to consider the issue of applying a set of measures to limit the issuance by banks of consumer and so-called microcredits to young people who have not reached the age of 25, ”said Petrov in the appeal.

Earlier, the former vice-president of the Association of Russian Banks, President of the National Association of Collection Agencies, Elman Mehdiyev, in an interview with NSN, assessed the proposal of the Bank of Russia not to collect the debt from citizens who lost their homes due to mortgage defaults.
