His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, ordered the release of 669 prisoners sentenced in various cases.
His Highness ensured the payment of the financial penalties that resulted from the implementation of these provisions, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
The release of the prisoners comes within the framework of His Highness the President's keenness to give the convicted an opportunity to start a new life and alleviate the suffering of their families.
