An Egyptian court has upheld a decision by the Public Prosecution to prevent 83 people from disposing of their property or management and travel ban in case No. 930 of 2019, known as the Hope Cell, according to a rights source for Al Jazeera Net.

The source explained that the decision issued by the South Cairo Court was limited to the accounts, money and property of the accused only, and did not include their families, as is the case in most political cases.

The same source said that the defense of the defendants will appeal against the decision after three months of the sentence in accordance with the article specified in the law, after reviewing the documents on the judgment.

The volume of funds seized by the Egyptian state in cases with a political dimension amounted to more than 300 billion pounds, according to pro-regime spokesman Ahmed Moussa last year.
