The Dubai Customs Department foiled an attempt to smuggle 274,000 tablets, hidden in a secret hideout inside a fuel tank for a wooden ship engine.

The smugglers tricked Dubai Customs officers by placing large amounts of diesel in the engine fuel tank to hide the crime, but the inspectors were able to find two black bags containing the Kabtagon pills packed in 137 transparent plastic bags.

When the ship's captain asked the two bags, he denied knowing them, so the ship's crew and the drug shipment were handed over to the Dubai Police Department.

This is the second qualitative control in terms of value, weight and quantity for drug seizures for the management of coastal customs centers in recent years. He pointed out that Dubai Customs organized 13 training courses last year as part of its efforts to rehabilitate and train officers cadres, while the number of courses in the first quarter of this year were four training courses, attended by 178 inspectors and inspectors from different customs centers.
