A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody in London on Sunday for pushing a 6-year-old boy from the tenth floor of the Museum of Modern Art.

A teenager was arrested on Sunday for throwing a six-year-old boy off an observation platform on the tenth floor of the Tate Modern Museum in London, police said.

The child in critical condition

The child was transported by helicopter to the hospital and is in critical condition, while the 17-year-old is in custody and suspected of "attempted murder". The Tate Modern, a modern art museum on the banks of the Thames and one of Britain's most visited tourist spots, was closed immediately after the tragedy, but visitors were then allowed to leave. Several of them were interviewed as witnesses.

Police were alerted around 2:40 pm (3:45 pm in France), she said in a statement. The victim "was found on a roof of the fifth floor" of the building. The suspect "stayed with the public on the platform of the tenth floor and there is no indication that the victim knew him," the statement added.
